The 6th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Mechatronics (ICAMM 2026)


On May 16, 2026, the 6th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Mechatronics (ICAMM 2026) concluded successfully at Dalian University of Science and Technology. The conference adopted an integrated online-offline format. On site, it brought together experts, scholars, and research leaders in advanced materials, mechatronics, intelligent manufacturing, and intelligent inspection, while also opening a simultaneous online participation channel. This created a high-level, interdisciplinary, and open academic exchange platform, strongly promoting the sharing of cutting-edge research achievements, the integration of disciplinary ideas, and the in-depth collaborative development of industry, academia, and research.

The conference was hosted by Dalian University of Science and Technology. It attracted researchers in related fields from many universities and research institutes both inside and outside the province. Focusing on cutting-edge research directions such as advanced materials development, mechatronic engineering, intelligent algorithm applications, wind power equipment operation and maintenance, composite material inspection, bio-based polymer materials, and aerospace electromechanical control, the conference provided an efficient bridge for communication and discussion among scholars in the field.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Dong Shujing, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Dalian University of Science and Technology. Vice President Ma Fenghai delivered the welcoming address on behalf of the host institution, extending a warm welcome to the experts and scholars attending the conference. He introduced the university’s long-standing academic foundation, research platform development, and achievements in talent cultivation in related disciplines such as mechatronics and materials engineering, and stated that the university would take this conference as an opportunity to continue strengthening academic exchange and cooperation, thereby helping promote the high-quality development of its disciplines and programs.

The conference invited four industry experts to deliver keynote reports, covering cutting-edge research and engineering applications across multiple disciplines. Professor Song Jinhui from Dalian University of Technology presented research findings related to meta-dynamic-range image sensors; Professor Du Fengming from Dalian Maritime University discussed the innovative application of intelligent algorithms in predicting wear in bearing materials; Professor Chen Changzheng, a dual-appointed professor at Shenyang University of Technology and Dalian University of Science and Technology, gave an in-depth presentation on intelligent fault diagnosis and operation-and-maintenance technologies for large wind power components; and Professor Shahid Hussain from Jiangsu University joined online to introduce the latest research progress on charge modulation at bismuth-based heterojunction interfaces for trace detection.

During the oral presentation session, several young researchers successively shared their latest achievements. Their studies covered a range of popular topics, including data-enabled research and development of precision machining processes for intelligent manufacturing, optimized design of kitchen waste recycling devices, impact localization detection methods for composite materials, the preparation of high-strength and high-toughness bio-based polyurethane elastomers, and in-orbit closed-loop mission reconstruction technology for spacecraft. These presentations combined theoretical innovation with engineering applicability, fully demonstrating the vibrant research activity and broad application prospects in the fields of advanced materials and mechatronics.

The conference featured a strong academic atmosphere, with participants engaging in in-depth discussions and exchanging insights around the various academic presentations, effectively promoting cross-regional and interdisciplinary academic cooperation and technical exchange.
